The decision was made due to that fact that violating the Electoral Code of Armenia the organization representatives openly supported incumbent president Robert Kocharian in a TV broadcast.

However, the developments during the electoral campaign give cause for doubting the opposition readiness to cooperate, incumbent Armenian president Robert Kocharian said in the course of the TV debate with People Party leader Stepan Demirchian.

Two days before the voting, Presidential candidate Stepan Demirchyan confirmed his readiness to participate in the second round of the elections. Leader of People's party, despite the opinion of the radical part of his supporters who were trying to convince him in the impossibility of changing the power legitimately, Demirchyan decided to go up to the end believeing in his possiblities and in the triumph of justice.
