ARMENIA- ONLY CIS STATE WITH "PARTLY FREE ECONOMY"

PanARMENIAN.Net - According the Economic Freedom of the World, 2005 Annual Report issued by Heritage and Wall Street Journal Armenia (42-nd position) is the only CIS member-state that was included in the list of the countries with "partly free economy". As compared to last year the index of Georgia lowered with 0.15 scores and made 3.24. Thus occupying the 100-th position Georgia is among the states with "mostly not free economy". Azerbaijan shares the 103-rd position with Chad and Egypt. According to the report, the situation in Turkey is worse. It occupies the 112-th position. Russia is the 124-th. The US and Switzerland are the 12-th and the 13-th respectively. The economy of Hong Kong was rated as freest, RFE/RL reports.
