RA government approves draft Mining Code

PanARMENIAN.Net - On August 3, the Armenian government approved the draft Mining Code.

RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan said that the code defines mining procedures, principles for environmental protection during mining activities and other legal relationships.

Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted, for his part, that adoption of the code is of keen importance for development of Armenia’s economy.

“Taking into consideration Armenia’s potential, international structures offer creating a separate mining ministry. Thus, we have no right to make mistakes,” he said.

The Prime Minister instructed all ministries to submit their opinions and comments on the matter for further discussion.
