Armenian agriculture in crisis

PanARMENIAN.Net - Agricultural problems arouse concern of agronomist Garnik Petrosyan, who says that Armenian agriculture is in deep crisis.

“The slump is mostly conditioned by unfavorable weather conditions, but there are other serious reasons behind it. The crisis affected agriculture later than the other fields of economy,” he told a press conference in Yerevan.

Petrosyan stressed that the area under wheat and potato crops reduced by 50 and 10 thousand ha respectively.

“To improve the situation, the government should create favorable conditions for farmers,” he said.
