Armenia expects USD 21,5 million funding from Millennium Challenge Account in first quarter of 2011![]() December 14, 2010 - 20:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian government hosted a sitting of the Millennium Challenge Account Armenia council, led by the Prime Minister, council chairman Tigran Sargsyan. At the meeting, the council approved the application to be submitted to Millennium Challenge Corporation. The application stipulates for Armenia’s expectations for USD 21,5 million funding in the first quarter of 2011, with USD 20,8 million to be allocated to Irrigation Program. The remaining part will be provided for program assessment, management and control. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
