FREIGHT FLOW BETWEEN ARMENIA AND BLACK SEA GEORGIAN PORTS UNDER CONTROL

PanARMENIAN.Net - The freight flow between Armenia and the Black Sea ports of Poti and Batumi (Adzharia) is under control, Executive Director of Apaven largest forwarder company of Armenia Gagik Aghajanian told Arminfo agency, when commenting on the communication blockade of the Autonomous Republic of Adzharia. In his words, at present works are carried out to put in order legal nuances of diversification of the Armenia-Black Sea freight flow from the Batumi ferry port to the port of Poti. G. Aghajanian also reported that Armenia does not have loads in Batumi at present and attempts are made to receive or sent new carriages via the Poti port. It should be noted that since the beginning of the year 2003 containerized and coach cargo, destined to or sent from Armenia, were distributed between the Black Sea ports of Poti in Georgia and Batumi in Adzharia. The latter of the ports provides for reception and sending of carriages, and the Poti one - for containerized cargo.
