Armenian parties discuss formation of inter-party headquarters

PanARMENIAN.Net - Representatives of five political forces that will run for the forthcoming parliamentary elections participated in the discussion on establishment of a single inter-party headquarters to counter election forgery. The idea was proposed by head of Political Analysts Union Hmayak Hovhannisyan.

“It is the first time that inter-party cooperation is offered though public support. This may become a serious achievement in Armenia’s political culture,” Mr. Hovhannisyan said.

According to him, the document on formation of a single inter-party headquarters comprises only the provisions based on statements of representatives of those political forces issued during discussions on oncoming elections.

The expert noted that the inter-party headquarters might address specification of voter lists, equal media coverage of the activity of various political forces, as well as monitoring the activity of police and local authorities during elections.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc, Heritage and ARF Dashnaktsutyun parties attended the discussion.
