PanARMENIAN.Net - Disturbance at yesterday's meeting of National Unification (NU) party was provoked by bodyguards of some oligarchs, Chairman of National Unification opposition party Artashes Geghamian told journalists today. Specifically, in his words, NU members recognized oligarch Sashik Sargsian's (brother of RA defense minister Serge Sargsian) bodyguards, who broke photographic cameras and camera-recorders of journalists present at the meeting. Meanwhile, as reported by party council member Sargis Muradkhanian, after the meetings 13 activists of NU were detained for the term of 5 days as administrative punishment for provoking anti-constitutional actions. As noted by Muradkhanian, no violence was used against them. The party has presented its evaluation of the occurrence in letters, which were sent to EU and US ambassadors accredited in Armenia. In the near future Artashes Geghamian plans to meet with the foreign diplomats in person.
