Opposition candidate says he’ll wait for RPA rep. at TV debate

PanARMENIAN.Net - Parliamentary candidate from Armenian National Congress (ANC) and editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak paper said he will be waiting for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) representative Ruben Hayrapetyan at a live TV debate on ArmNews channel at 10 pm, April 16.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, RPA candidate in N 1 electoral district and head of the Armenian Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan will keep his promise, expressing readiness to participate in political debates with top ten members of ANC proportional electoral list in any discussion format.

“I didn’t invite him to a debate. It was his initiative,” ANC member said.

Parliamentary elections, due in Armenia on May 6, feature 8 political parties, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Prosperous Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD), Orinats Yerkir, Heritage, Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA), Communist Party of Armenia and United Armenian party, as well as one election bloc represented by opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC).
