AZERIS FAILED TO PREVENT ARMENIANS FROM ORGANIZING RALLY AT TURKISH EMBASSY IN TEHRAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Collisions between the local Armenians and the activists of the National Awakening of Southern Azerbaijan Movement took place yesterday in Tehran. As reported by Turan agency, the Azeri activists tried to prevent Armenians from organizing a rally at the Turkish Embassy April 24 with a claim to recognize the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire. According to the source, with the permission of the local authorities to arrange a rally, the representatives of the Armenian community stuck placards in the center of Tehran with a call to join the mass meeting. Meanwhile the activists of the National Awakening of Southern Azerbaijan Movement began to tear off the posters, thus provoking a skirmish. Law-enforcers defended Armenians and exerted force against the Azeri activists.
