Paper: Armenian parliament speaker hopes to regain his post

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to Zhoghovurd paper, speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Samvel Nikoyan tries hard to convince both the parliament’s staff and the public that he will again be the speaker after the elections in May.

This has become a fixed idea for Nikoyan, who tries to push it through TV as well, the paper says.

The recent report about the speaker’s meeting with Latvian ambassador in Armenia Gints Apals ended saying: “Speaking on behalf of his country’s speaker, Gints Apals invited Armenia’s National Assembly chairman to Latvia, voicing hope that he will turn up shortly after the upcoming parliamentary elections.”

Nikoyan still hopes that he will again be the speaker of the parliament, and perhaps, has persuaded the ambassador in this, paper says.
