Atrsakh war fighters to commemorate victory day

PanARMENIAN.Net - Union of Artsakh freedom fighters (UAFF) will organize a May 9 2012 charity action aiming to help Artsakh war veterans and families of those killed in this liberation war.

“May is the month of our victories, this is why we focus on helping our veterans namely in May and September,” chairman of UAFF youth unit Gegham Stepanyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

People regularly volunteer to help veterans, and UAFF organizes various charity events throughout the whole year, Stepanyan emphasized.

May 9, 2012 is a special day for the Armenian people. It marks the Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War, as well as 20th anniversary of Shushi’s liberation from Azerbaijani occupation and creation of Defense Army of Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

UAFF was established in 2000. The Union comprising 8500 freedom fighters is chaired by Artsakh Hero, Major General Samvel Karapetyan.
