Politician: Tsarukyan perhaps had both a gun and a phone

PanARMENIAN.Net - Head of Political Analysts Union, member of Prosperous Armenia party Hmayak Hovhannisyan held a press conference on April 20.

Journalists asked him to comment on the much debated incident in Etchmiadzin and tell who actually lied, Prosperous Armenia's leader Gagik Tsarukyan or ex-minister of foreign affairs Vartan Oskanian.

Replying to the question whether Tsarukyan did carry a weapon at his election meeting, Hovhannisyan said: “We live in a country which has criminal groups and authorities, ones like Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan nicknamed “Liska”.

He [Tsarukyan] has the right to carry a weapon and protect himself; he must exercise his constitutional right. This is a legal weapon, and Tsarukyan may well have carried a phone and a gun in both sides [of his belt[,” politician stated.
