Presidential nomination launched in Artsakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Nomination of candidates for presidential elections in Artsakh Republic is launched starting April 20. The process will end 6 pm, May 5.

This time candidates can run for president through own nomination in contrast to past elections, during which candidates were nominated by an initiative group or a party,

Current NKR President Bako Sahakyan already announced about nomination of himself. He is still the only candidate, Karabakh-open.info. reports.

The registration of candidates will be held from May 30-June 19, to be followed by election campaign.

According to NKR Central Electoral Commission press service, no applications for observer or journalist accreditation have been submitted yet.

NKR Central Electoral Commission published price list for paid air time for campaigning, with AMD 35 thous. (including VAT) set for per minute of Artsakh PublicTelevision broadcast and AMD 20 thous. (VAT including) for radio broadcast.

As for provision of free airtime, according to NKR Central Electoral Commission, the presidential candidates will be provided maximum 30 minutes of Artsakh PublicTelevision and Radio broadcast.

The presidential elections of Artsakh Republic are due July 19.
