Ray Liotta looks set to play the bad guy in Chloe Moretz' new movie.

The Goodfellas star - who is no stranger to villainous roles - is in talks to join indie drama The Rut, Belfast Telegraph said citing The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie follows a young girl, played by Kick-Ass star Chloe, who heads into the wilderness by herself to hunt deer in a bid to win the approval of her dad (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who is a legendary hunter.

If Liotta, 57, signs up, he will play a hunting obsessed local who is the rival of Morgan's character.

The Rut was penned by Kevin Caruso and will be directed by Karyn Kusama.
