Orange, UEFA launch EURO 2012™ mobile app

PanARMENIAN.Net - With just almost one month until the launch of UEFA EURO 2012tm, Orange and UEFA have teamed up to unveil the Official UEFA EURO 2012™ mobile app – the definitive source of information on Europe’s top football tournament.

Available on eight mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry, Bada and Java – the free app provides up-to-date news on the teams and tournament, video interviews and premium paid for highlights, statistics, and personalized push notifications allowing fans to get the latest on their favorite teams. For the first time, fans will also be able to share content from a EURO app via Facebook and Twitter to share tournament news and updates with friends and family.

“Our goal is to create digital experiences that connect our customers around their passions – and EURO 2012tm is the football event that supporters will be most passionate about this year,” Séverine Legrix de la Salle, vice president of brand at Orange said. “By adding social and geolocation functionality to a EURO app for the first time, we are helping football fans across Europe to get the most out of EURO 2012tm whether at home or at the tournament.”

In addition to getting all of the latest news, the app will help fans prepare for UEFA EURO 2012tm like never before with features like the mobile fan kit, including “Photo Fun” which enables users digitally apply face paint to a photo and share it with friends, as well as geolocation functionality and augmented reality maps to find their friends and the best places to watch UEFA EURO 2012tm matches at home or abroad.

“We are happy to provide our Armenian customers with the same possibilities as to those of other 10 European countries. This is a fantastic opportunity for our customers to become part of this pan-European football holiday, feel the emotions and atmosphere that will unite all funs throughout Europe during the games and before it, use the exclusive possibilities given by their smartphone and their operator,” Aram Mkrtchyan, Orange Armenia MarketingDirector said.

Fans visiting Poland and Ukraine can also use the built-in travel information to get information about the cities they’re visiting, about the stadiums, and find the official UEFA Fan Zones in Poland, where fans can visit the Orange area to charge their phones, play interactive games, and relax with their friends, according to a press release.
