Clinton condemns recent incidents at Azeri-Armenian contact line

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton discussed the recent incidents at the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces.

“An end must be put to the violence. I conveyed the U.S. readiness to foster the conflict settlement to Azerbaijani President,” she said during a joint briefing with Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Mammadyarov, in turn, noted that the meeting with Clinton was very productive, with discussion of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement being in focus.

“Several ideas were voiced on steps to be taken to achieve progress towards the conflict’s settlement,” Azerbaijan Press Agency (APA) quoted Mammadyarov as saying.

On June 18, Paris will host a meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
