HYMN AND FLAG OF ARMENIAN CAPITAL APPROVED

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Council of the Yerevan City Administration passed the hymn and flag of the Armenian capital city. As Deputy Mayor Arman Sahakian told journalists, the first place in the hymn contest was taken by the composition Erebuni-Yerevan with music by Edgar Hovhannissian, lyrics by Paruyr Sevak. As Sahakian noted, the flag of the capital is a white cloth with the emblem of the capital in the center - lion-king Erebuni with a scepter on a bronze shield, a crown "tree of life" on his head and picture of the Ararat Mountain on his chest. The bronze emblem is surrounded by 12 small red triangles, which symbolize the present and 11 former capital cities of Armenia. In his words, the image includes the tricolor of the Armenian national flag. Artist designer, member of the Union of Artists and Union of Designers of Armenia, author of the outline for the Armenian coins Karapet Abrahamian and artist designer, deputy to the chairman of the Union of Artists of Armenia Karapet Pashian won the first place in the nomination of the Flag of the Capital. To note, the hymn and the flag will be for the first time presented on October 13 during the grand sitting of the Yerevan City Administration dedicated to the 2786-th birthday of the Armenian capital.
