First look at Matt Damon in

PanARMENIAN.Net - Neill Blomkamp's upcoming "Elysium" has been wrapped in secrecy, but the first official image from the science fiction thriller looks like it will be a gritty and futuristic follow-up to his low-budget hit "District 9," TheWrap said.

The photo of star Matt Damon comes via Entertainment Weekly, and spotlights "The Bourne Identity" actor touting one impressive firearm. Based on his gleaming dome, Damon looks like he's been frequenting the same barber who handled Sigourney Weaver's hair style for "Alien 3."

Co-starring Jodie Foster and Diego Luna, "Elysium" unfolds on a manmade space station around 2159. It may be set in the distant future, but it boasts a ripped-from-the-headlines plot about immigration. The movie centers on a government agent's efforts to enforce anti-immigration laws over concerns about over-population.

Sony is planning a panel on "Elysium" for Comic-Con next week, where a few more secrets may be revealed. It hits theaters on March 1, 2013.
