ARMENIAN-AMERICAN MILITARY COOPERATION DISCUSSED DURING ARMENIAN DELEGATION VISIT TO US

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian delegation headed by first deputy to the Defense Minister, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Colonel General Mikael Harutyunian visited the US October 31-November 5. As reported in the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, during the visit the Armenian delegation met the US Joint Forces Command, the Federal Command of NATO reorganization, US Central Command. The delegation also paid a call to Kansas State, Armenia has established partnership with, particularly between the Defense Ministry and Kansas National Guards. In Washington M. Harutyunian met with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Richard Myers, who had issued the invitation to the Armenian delegation. In the course of the conversation they considered the Armenian-American military cooperation, peacemaking as well as the participation in the NATO Partnership for Peace Program. To note, Harutyunian was decorated with a Legion of Honor for the establishment of sustainable and constructive ties between the military departments of both countries and for the active participation in the struggle against terrorism.
