US WILL CONTINUE BALANCED POLICY IN SOUTH CAUCASUS AFTER BUSH REELECTION, ARMENIAN FOREIGN MINISTER SUPPOSES

PanARMENIAN.Net - George Bush being reelected will result in continuation of the Washington balanced policy towards the South Caucasus, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian told RFE/RL. In his words, new directions of US-Armenia cooperation are formed with the Bush administration. Thus, the basis was laid for the military cooperation, Armenia was included in the Millennium Challenge Account. The minister denied the hearsay that in spite of Armenia's efforts to organize a meeting of the US and Armenian Presidents, it was not achieved. "There were no attempts to organize such a meeting, as there was no need," the head of the foreign policy department noted. At the same time V. Oskanian said in his opinion during the second term of Bush presidency grounds for organizing such a meeting will appear.
