US ARMENIAN COMMUNITY TO MAKE EFFORTS TO INCLUDE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN CURRICULA

PanARMENIAN.Net - The US Armenian community has launched a new campaign on acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915. As reported by RFE/RL, the campaign aims at inclusion of the topic of the Genocide in the US curricula on the basis of Peter Balakian book The Burning Tigris, devoted to the Armenian Genocide and which enjoys popularity in the US. It should be noted that 1000 copies of the book were distributed among US Congress and Bush administration members. It should be reminded that The Burning Tigris details the history document pages, US humanitarian assistance in the years of the Genocide and those heroic Americans, who came against Ottoman Turkey's crime.
