ESTONIAN PRESIDENT IS ASSURED ARMENIAN GENOCIDE SHOULD BE CONDEMNED
One should be guided by the Copenhagen criteria in the issue of Turkey's accession to the European community, Estonian President Arnold Ruutel considers. As of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915, Estonia proceeds from the EU common policy: "We are sure that it would be right to condemn what had happened to the Armenian people." At that, in Ruutel's words, Estonia has not formed its posture on the issue of Turkey's accession to the EU.
