RA Chamber of Commerce ready to help Syrian Armenians run business

PanARMENIAN.Net - Escalating tensions in Syria may be characterized as a “civil war”, Arabist Araks Pashanyan said.

“Situation in Syria is of importance to Armenia, considering 100 000 fellow citizens residing in the country,” she said.

The expert cited the price surge among the problems Syria-based Armenians face.

“However, not everyone can come to Armenia in view of the financial and psychological problems. They find it hard to sell their property and come to Armenia,” she said.

RA Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI of RA) Executive Director Mr. Araik Vardanyan, in turn, noted that by CCI President’s decree, a council on outreach provision to Syrian businessmen was earlier established. CCI of RA will provide free consultations to Syrian entrepreneurs.

“An outreach package for Syrian businessman will be submitted to the Armenian government,” Mr. Vardanyan said, adding that only 3000 Syrian Armenians are willing to stay in their homeland.
