FRENCH NA PRESIDENT SUGGESTED FORMATION OF INTERNATIONAL COMMISSION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE OF 1915

PanARMENIAN.Net - During his visit to Turkey last week President of the French National Assembly Jean-Louis Debre proposed to form an international commission on the Armenian Genocide, which would give a final resolution whether the Genocide really took place or not, thus putting an end to all the controversies. At the meeting with Chairman of the EU Commission Yasar Yakis and other Turkish parliamentarians Jean-Louis Debre stated that this commission should be formed of representatives of UN, NATO and CE as well as of representatives of Switzerland as a neutral party. When answering Yasar Yakis's question why France has recognized the Armenian Genocide without conducting any researches, Mr. Debre said that the past should be forgotten. " We just wish to smooth your way to the EU", he stated.
