Expert says Azeri president concerned over drop in oil deposits

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani president’s allegations against British Petroleum are conditioned by the drop in the country’s oil deposits, Armenian political expert said.

“Ilham Aliyev is well aware that decrease in Azerbaijan’s oil resources undermines the country’s economy and may cause serious social problems,” Sargis Asatryan said, explaining disagreements between Iran and Turkmenistan by the fact.

The expert further deemed Azerbaijani provocations against Nagorno Karabakh possible after the fact of drop in oil resources is confirmed.

“However, tense relations with Azerbaijan won’t favor the interests British Petroleum,” Mr. Asatryan said.
