Paper: relations between Prosperous Armenia leader, ex-president dampen

According to Hraparak daily, relations between Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan and his political “godfather” ex-president Robert Kocharian have gone worse.

“As sources close to the authorities say, Kocharian and Tsarukyan had a harsh conversation, with the ex-president demanding Prosperous Armenia support for former Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian.

On the other hand, Tsarukyan was requested to back President Serzh Sargsyan’s candidacy, with the party leader finding himself between two fires.

To impose a decision on Tsarukyan, propaganda machines got down to business, trying to shift Tsarukyan’s stance to either of the sides, which made Prosperous Armenia resort to creating alternative sources of information,” the daily said.
