Paper: ANM to nominate Levon Zurabyan as candidate?

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to 168 Zham daily, Armenian National Congress (ANC) members are confident that the bloc leader Levon Ter-Petrossian will announce decision on running for president at the upcoming congress of the Armenian National Movement (ANM).

Until recently Ter-Petrossian’s nomination was not discussed due to Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarulayn’s possible running for president. The decision to hold an ANM congress, instead of the ANC one aims to conceal the true remnants of the bloc. Despite the ANC members’ claims, there is a common belief suggesting Ter-Petrossian will resolve against running for president, with ANC coordinator Levon Zurabyan to take the step, instead. In case of possible nomination by ANM, Zurabyan is likely to receive more backing, with ANC representatives against the decision to be slammed as “pro-governmental.”
