Wrestler Arsen Julfalakyan named Armenia’s best athlete of 2012

PanARMENIAN.Net - Olympic silver medalist, Greco-Roman wrestler Arsen Julfalakyan (294 points) has been named Armenia’s best athlete of 2012 based on results of a survey bringing together 30 Armenian sports journalists.

European champion, Olympic bronze medalist Artur Aleksanyan gained 250 points to come 2nd, to be followed by weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan (226 points).

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian took the 4th spot, with shooter Yerjanik Avetisyan, judoka Hovhannes Davtyan, chess player Vladimir Akopian, gymnast Harutyun Merdinyan, taekwondo wrestler Arman Yeremyan and sambo wrestler Vachik Vardanyan included in the top 10 list.

Football players Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Yura Movsisyan, Roman Berezovsky, Sargis Hovsepyan and Aras Ozbiliz were included in the list of 13 best sportsmen.
