The petition reminds that April 24, 2013 will mark the 98th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Empire in 1915. It emphasizes that “so far, Washington has not recognized the Genocide at the official level” and “while U.S. President Barack Obama strongly condemned the Armenian Genocide and promised to recognize it, he didn’t keep his word.” “I consider appropriate that the time has come for the official Washington to recognize the Armenian Genocide,” the author of the petition says. ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington.
