The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member Tatchat Vardapetyan has noted compromise as a possible solution to the current situation following the presidential elections.
The MP deemed formation of a coalition, also with Heritage party as a possible compromise, helping to ease the current tensions.
“People must admit that Serzh Sargsyan has been elected president of the republic. The number of the people participating in rallies gets smaller. The Republican rallies are not aimed against anyone. Students have never been forced to attend them,” the MP said, stressing the need to consider 37% votes Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian garnered in Feb 18 elections.
“We are a country with small resources. Though emigration is the biggest concern today, Armenia faced that problem in Soviet times, too,” he said, adding that reforms will be implemented during Serzh Sargsyan’s second term.
Dwelling on the meeting between Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan and Raffi Hovannisian meeting, Tatchat Vardapetyan said it aimed to ease tensions.
