Kocharian and Simmons Satisfied with Armenia-NATO Cooperation
Today Armenian President Robert Kocharian met with NATO SecGen Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Central Asia Robert Simmons, reported the Press Service of the Armenian leader. The parties discussed issues referring to the Armenia-NATO Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP). The interlocutors were content with the cooperation. They said the IPAP should be fully specified shortly and it will form the basis for Armenia-NATO interaction in the coming several years. As for the reform of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Kocharian said that is spite of the difficulties in implementation of the reforms under «neither war, nor peace» circumstances, Armenia has a resolute attitude towards the question. R. Simmons and R. Kocharian also discussed NATO partnership programs in the South Caucasus and reforms in the countries of the region. NATO displays a common approach to the South Caucasus, however it realizes partnership taking into account the reality in each country, Mr. Simmons remarked.
