Political Consultations between Armenian and Egyptian MFAs Held in Cairo

PanARMENIAN.Net - November 16-18 RA Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian was in Egypt for participation in the 6th phase of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Egypt, RA MFA press office reported. On the first day of the visit G. Gharibjanian was welcomed by Egyptian FM Ahmed Aboul Gheit. The parties highly assessed the level of the Armenian-Egyptian cooperation in allt he fields and stressed the active cooperation within international structures conditioned by the balanced and neutral positon Egypt hold on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. The Armenian Deputy FM thanked Egypt, in part the Foundation of Technical Cooperation with the CIS member-states, for the training of Armenian specialists in various fields. For his part Ahmed Aboul Gheit stressted the importance of regular political consultations between the MFAs for coordination of positions on a number of regional and international problems. G. Gharibjanian and the Egyptian FM referred to the upcoming visit of the RA Prime Minister and the possibility of holding a regular sitting of the Armenian-Egyptian Interparliamentary Commission. On the same day Gegham Ghabibjanian discussed a wide scope of issues with Egyptian Foreign Minister Assistant for European Issues Ashraf Rashed. The interlocutors also touched upon the issues referring to the agenda of the Armenian-Egyptian Interparliamentary Commission sitting and agreements to be signed within its framework.
