The judoka beat Kazakh, Russian and Georgian contenders to face Georgia’s Amiran Papinashvili. Davtyan lost to Papinashvili in semifinals to get the better of Netherlands’ Mikos Salminen in a fight for bronze. The Moscow-hosted tournament is a qualifier for the 2016 Olympic Games.
