Events in Javakheti Can Develop over Karabakh or Nakhichevan Script

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian authorities should understand that the issue of self-determination of Samtskhe-Javakheti (a Georgian region populated by Armenians) is a purely political issue. If it is not solved, the social and political problems of the region will not be solved either. Developments showed that Javakheti can either follow the way of Nagorno Karabakh or Nakhichevan, Member of Javakhk NGO Council Hrazdan Madoyan stated in response to a question of a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter during a news conference in Yerevan today. «We have two ways: either to make Javakheti independent or finally lose it, as we lost Nakhichevan. Nevertheless, I do not think it will come to an armed conflict. Most likely a referendum will be held in Javakheti, at which residents will decide their fate,» Hrazdan Madoyan remarked. «Javakheti is the only road from Armenia to Europe, and if we lose it, we will stop existing as a state,» he said.
