David Fincher has delivered a Gone Girl cover for Entertainment Weekly, Digital Spy said.

He photographed stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike for the latest issue of the magazine.

Fincher is directing the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's bestselling novel.

It centres around Nick Dunne (Affleck), whose perfect marriage is shattered when his wife Amy (Pike) disappears on their fifth wedding anniversary.

As the finger of suspicion begins to point in Nick's direction, he desperately searches for the truth about his wife's fate. Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens and Patrick Fugit will also feature in the movie.

Gone Girl will be released on October 3.
