Armenia’s total public debt totals $4.55bnAugust 1, 2014 - 17:42 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s total public debt increased by 0.13 percent in June to $4.556.9 billion, according to the latest data released by the National Statistical Service on Friday, Aug 1, ARKA reported. According to official figures, the country’s foreign debt decreased by $15.7 million to $3.850.4 billion by late June. Of the total foreign debt approximately $3.373.2 billion were owed by the government, a decrease of $9.5 million from the previous month. Some $477.3 million were owed by the Central Bank, by $6.2 million less from May. Domestic debt stood at $706.5 million, an increase of $21.7 million from the previous month. About $671.7 million of that amount were in government bonds purchased by residents. Government bonds in foreign currency totaled $26.5 million, loans stood at $6 million and domestic guarantees at $2.3 million.
