Baku artificially flaring tensions at contact line: Defense Ministry

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Ministry yet again urges Azerbaijan to refrain from escalating tensions and act to stabilize the situation at the contact line, Defense Ministry press service reported.

Around 240 ceasefire violations by Azeri armed forces were reported at the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh on Aug 17-22.

Azerbaijan fired over 190 shots from various caliber weapons towards the positions of Karabakh defense army, which retains full control of the situation. 48 ceasefire violations were reported at the border with Armenia, with 300 shots fired.

According to the Defense Ministry, constant violations of ceasefire suggest that Azeri armed forces and Defense Ministry either deliberately orchestrate subversions to artificially flare tensions at contact line or border units act on their own authority without reporting their actions, Novosti-Armenia said.
