Russia halts air navigation services to Air Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian State Corporation for Organization of Air Communication announced plans to suspend air navigation services to Air Armenia over the airline’s outstanding and current debts of $1.1 million staring from September 21, ARKA reported.

According to the state-owned corporation, Air Armenia had repeatedly been given postponement for the outstanding air navigation services payments

"Despite the fact that the Air Armenia was given every opportunity to pay off the existing debts, the company’s management has not taken effective measures to reduce the debt burden," the Russian provider said.

The Russian company said it will resume air navigation services for the Armenian carrier immediately after full repayment of outstanding debts and guarantees to pay the current debt.

Air Armenia operates two daily flights to Moscow, as well as flights to St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, Krasnodar, Samara and Nizhny Novgorod.

The company was founded in 2003. it began passenger transportation in 2013.
