Horror hit "Ouija" sequel finds director, actress

Horror hit

PanARMENIAN.Net - Good news comes for horror movie fans. A sequel to last year's horror hit "Ouija" has found its director and actress. As AceShowbiz reports citing The Hollywood Reporter, Mike Flanagan is up to serve behind the lens and Annalise Basso will star in the upcoming movie.

Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form are producing for Platinum Dunes while Jason Blum will produce for Blumhouse Productions and Brian Goldner will handle things for Hasbro alongside Stephen Davis. Universal's director of development Sara Scott will oversee for the studio.

Flanagan, who is co-writing the script with Jeff Howard, reunites with Blumhouse, which produced his previous horror film "Oculus". The film will also reunite Flanagan with Basso whom he directed in the 2013 movie.

"Ouija 2", which is set for release in the U.S. on October 21, 2016, will again revolve around the ancient spirit board from the original movie which centered on a group of friends fighting the supernatural forces behind the board. With the low budget of $5 million, the original was considerably successful, taking in more than $100 million worldwide.

Basso has just wrapped production for indie movie "Prettyface" in which she stars alongside Patrick Schwarzenegger. She previously appeared on SundanceTV's series "The Red Road" and will next appear in "Captain Fantastic".
