Washington does not consider Karabakh conflict “frozen”: envoy

PanARMENIAN.Net - U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan said Washington does not think Karabakh conflict is frozen, Azerbaijani media report.

“I think the parties must resolve the conflict,” Robert Cekuta said, reiterating OSCE Minsk Group U.S. Co-chair James Warlick’s words that Washington is concerned about the escalation on the contact line.

Warlick and his Russian and French counterparts are actively involved in the issue, the Ambassador said.

According to him, the conflict cannot be considered "frozen" if people die on the frontline. "We are working with the parties towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict. All sides need to take active steps to reduce the tension and resolve the conflict," Cekuta concluded.
