Armenia to take part in major counter-terrorism drill in Belarus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Top officers of the counterterrorism units of security agencies and special services of the CIS member states will convene in Minsk, Belarus on 31 May – 2 June, BelTA reports citing the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

During the meeting, the results of the first stage of the CIS counterterrorism exercise Cyber Antiterror 2016 will be summed up and the final phase of the exercise will take place.

In the final phase, a counterterrorism operation will be staged to free hostages and neutralize terrorists at a strategically important installation (the Lukoml state district power plant in this case).

Delegations of competent agencies of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, the CIS Executive Committee, the Secretariat of the Defense Ministers Council, other committees and agencies will come to Minsk for the event.
