Two Armenians wounded in latest attack on Aleppo

PanARMENIAN.Net - The death toll from the rebel mortar attack on Aleppo climbed to 40 on Saturday, July 9, with two Armenians – Hripsime Ghazarian and Sosi Ghazarian-Hekimian – among the 250 wounded.

The majority of the victims are children, Kantsasar newspaper said in a Facebook post.

The shells landed on residential areas in government-controlled parts of western Aleppo, said an earlier report.

Pro-government websites and news TVs released footage of Friday's rebel attack on Aleppo.

Government troops are very close to cutting off the Castello road, the only supply route connecting the rebel-held areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo province and the eastern part of Aleppo city, Xinhua said.

Aleppo, located near the borders with Turkey, is Syria's largest city and once an economic hub. It has been a focal point of clashes between the Syrian army and the rebels.
