Armenian, Russian Defense Ministers talk military cooperation![]() August 16, 2016 - 11:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on Tuesday, August 16 met with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu in Yerevan, Armenia. At the meeting, the parties discussed a host of issues of military cooperation, Defense Ministry spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan said in a Facebook post. Deputy Defense Ministers and other top officials from relevant agencies of both countries attended the meeting. Shoygu arrived in Armenia to participate in the session of the CSTO Defense Ministers Council. Based on the decision adopted at a CSTO session back in 2015 about Armenia’s presidency in the organization, Yerevan will host the session of CSTO Council of Defense Ministers on Tuesday. Defense Ministry delegations from CSTO member states - Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan – as well as Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha and Chief of Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov will participate in the session. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
