Manchester United's Mourinho to axe Rooney for Leicester City match

PanARMENIAN.Net - Wayne Rooney finally looks set to be dropped by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for this weekend’s Premier League match against Leicester City, Metro said.

The England international’s woeful form in the club’s most recent defeat to Watford looks to have been enough for the Portuguese to finally lose patience with him, though many fans have been calling for him to be left out for the best part of a year.

Rooney, who turns 31 next month, has been performing at the top level since his breakthrough the age of 16 for Everton, and that seems to be catching up with him now as he looks well past his peak despite being relatively young for a top class footballer.

United lost 3-1 at Watford on Sunday with Rooney used in midfield, but his change of position doesn’t seem to have helped him regain any kind of form.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils captain will now be left out of the starting line up for the visit of Premier League champions Leicester to Old Trafford on Saturday.
