CIS observers evaluate parliamentarian elections in Armenia free and open
"International observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) think the May 12 parliamentarian elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia were held in accordance with the acting electoral legislation of the country," the statement of the CIS observers say. CIS Executive Secretary, head of the mission Vladimir Rushaylo told to a press conference in Yerevan that the elections were free, open and transparent. "CIS observers state elections were important factors for stable development and further democratization of country's life. State bodies of the country realized concrete practical measures aimed at providing voters the right to make a free choice during the election day, as well as developing the freedom to express views and pluralism of opinions," the statement underlines.
