US CONTINUES CALLING TURKEY TO OPEN BORDERS WITH ARMENIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Within the past few months the US has repeatedly called Turkey to open the border with Armenia, doing it publicly, as well as privately. As reported by "Arminfo" agency, US ambassador to Armenia John Ordway stated it today. He expressed hope that after the coming parliamentary elections in Turkey the dialogue begun between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Turkey would continue and would bring concrete results. The US diplomat noted that the statements made by Turkish politicians, in particular by Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit, on the prospects of opening the Armenian-Turkish border, inspire. The settlement of the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh will seriously contribute to improvement of the Armenian-Turkish relations, he said. The ambassador noted that nevertheless it did not mean that improvement of the Armenian-Turkish relations was not possible before solving the conflict.
