Armenia parliament OKs amendments to Electoral Code

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian parliament on Thursday, October 20 adopted for good and all the bill on making amendments and changes in the Electoral Code and a package of related draft laws.

103 MPs voted in favor, 4 were against, another 4 abstained.

According to the initiative, the list of voters who have already cast ballots will be published once elections are over. The lists containing signatures of servicemen and people held in detention facilities won't be made public though.

Also, the bill envisages installing cameras at all polling stations, while the entire electoral process will be broadcast and videotaped.

Opposition MP Levon Zurabyan hailed the change, calling the move long overdue.
