Azerbaijan ignores Karabakh agreements, Armenian lawmaker says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijan’s failed subversive attacks prove that Baku ignores and rejects agreements reached at summits in Vienna and Saint Petersburg, Deputy Speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov said on Friday, October 21.

Azerbaijani troops initiated subversive attacks in the eastern and southern sections of the Nagorno Karabakh contact line on October 20, at around 11:00pm-11:30pm.Having timely identified the rival, Karabakh troops took preventive measures to throw the saboteurs back to their positions. No fatalities were registered on Karabakh's side.

“The attacks sabotage the agreements reached at Vienna and Petersburg-hosted meetings, mediated by U.S. State Secretary John Kerry and Russian President Vladimir Putin,” he said.

According to Sharmazanov, the international community and, most importantly, the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries must make every effort to have the agreements implemented and prevent Azerbaijan from engaging in such criminal activities.

Also, he stressed, the Armenian side “perfectly fulfilled its mission” overnight (on October 20-21).
