7000 Matenadaran manuscripts digitized in Armenia![]() November 28, 2016 - 12:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Some 7000 manuscripts held in Matenadaran, the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts in Yerevan, have already been digitized, Advisor to the Director for New Technological and Publishing Affairs Gurgen Gasparyan said, according to Panorama.am. Also, he said, some 100,000 archival documents have been digitized. According to him, the institute also implements on-demand scanning, as many Armenologists and researchers order digitization for studying specific subjects. Matenadaran is a repository of ancient manuscripts, research institute and museum in Yerevan, Armenia. It holds one of the world's richest depositories of medieval manuscripts and books which span a broad range of subjects, including history, philosophy, medicine, literature, art history and cosmography in Armenian and other languages. ![]() ![]() As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
